This two-day workshop is suitable for artists who would like to get out of their comfort zone and try a full watercolour sheet (approx 55 cm x 75 cm). You can bring your own subject to paint and over the two days I’ll help you plan your painting, prepare pre-painting sketches, and complete your painting from start to finish. A challenge you’ll really enjoy – I promise!
Adorn – exhibition and workshops – 18 Mar – 12 Apr 2019 / The Adorn exhibition will showcase the work of the Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of Australia, WA (JMGA WA Inc). Come along and celebrate a display of unique contemporary jewellery and objects by JMGA WA members, whose use of skills and materials take adornment to new levels. Explore mankind’s desire for individuality through the concept of adornment at a series of creative workshops. Drawing Workshop with Andy Quilty. Part 1: 10am-11.30am Part 2: 12noon-1.30pm. The workshop will focus on the notion of drawing as a process of discovery. Participants will develop important skills, employing experimental methodologies and risk taking – introducing the notion of ‘happy accidents’ as fundamental to the art making process. Building confidence as well as technical skills, participants will gain the ability to take a more intuitive and exploratory approach to their work. Cost is $50 includes all material. Bookings are essential. There will be a break from 11.30 to noon so bring your own morning tea.

Black and White Exhibition – 9-26 Oct 2018 / 3 events: 1- Callout to all artists: Both JCAA members and non-members are encouraged to exhibit artworks at this exhibition – registrations close on 18 Sep. The theme for the exhibition is black and white, tones of grey and silver! Explore concepts and images, contrasts, positive and negative space, textures, patterns and nuances using graphite, paint, printmaking, textiles, sculptural form, collage, mixed media and other appropriate media – no boundaries. 2- Exhibition and Opening Celebration on 14 Oct and 3- Life Drawing Session on 13 Oct.
