Community Art Exhibition – Call for Entries – 4 Mar-30 Apr 2019 / The annual Community Art Exhibition is held in June each year at Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City. It is open to City of Joondalup residents and members of local visual arts associations (you can join/renew your membership to the JCAA). It offers a variety of non-acquisitive awards each year, such as the Overall Award for the Most Outstanding Artwork Award, media specific categories and a variety of themed awards with specific criteria.

Renata Wright – Winner of JCAA Members Art Award 2019

Renata Wright is the winner of the 2019 Joondalup Community Arts Association (JCAA) Members Art Award. This award follows from last year’s “JCAA Members Selection Exhibition” where artists competed in five categories: Painting, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Photographic & Digital Media and Technical Excellence. The winner of each category then went on to produce 3 more works to present in this exhibition. The judging for the overall winner of the JCAA Members Art Award 2019 was done by three external judges.

JCAA Members Art Award Exhibition – 5-15 Feb 2019

JCAA Members Art Awards Exhibition: The Joondalup Community Arts Association is holding its annual Members Art Awards exhibition from 5 to 15 February. This stems from last year’s JCAA Selection Exhibition held in August where five winners were selected in the following categories: * Painting – Renata Wright * Sculpture – Sheila Ayling * Mixed media – Colin Drummond * Technical Excellence – Jane Armstrong * Photo and digital media – Dita Hagedorn / These five artists will now present three new artworks as well as the pieces exhibited in the Selection Exhibition. An overall winner of $500 will be selected by three external judges.

Two of the City’s works, by Lindsay Harris and Sally Morgan, with others by Tjyllyungoo Lance Chadd, Richard Walley and Sharyn herself, are presented to share Noongar perspectives on the totemic relationships in our region.

JCAA Members Selection Exhibition – 2-24 Aug 2018

‘JCAA Members Selection Exhibition’ – an exhibition by the members of the Joondalup Community Arts Association at the Joondalup Art Gallery 2-24 Aug 2018 Official Opening Friday 3rd Aug from 6.30pm The “JCAA Members Selection Exhibition”, initiated in 2014, encourages our members to challenge their artistic practice, to play, take risks, and explore innovative ideas, media and processes in both two and three-dimensional form. One artist from each of five categories will be selected by a panel of external judges, and awarded a one-year free membership of the JCAA, as well as being invited to exhibit at the two-week JCAA Art Awards Exhibition to be held in February 2019. Each of the five artists will be required to produce a further 3 artworks for the JCAA Awards Exhibition. External judges will judge the bodies of work, and one artist will be awarded the 2018 JCAA Art Award prize of $500. The following 5 categories are Painting, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Photographic and Digital Media, Technical Excellence.
