Joondalup Boorungur an exhibition by Sharyn Egan / 3rd – 27th July / Photo gallery / As part of the 2018 NAIDOC week celebrations, Sharyn Egan was commissioned to present Joondalup Boorungur, an exhibition conceived in response to the City’s art collection. Two of the City’s works, by Lindsay Harris and Sally Morgan, with others by Tjyllyungoo Lance Chadd, Richard Walley and Sharyn herself, are presented to share Noongar perspectives on the totemic relationships in our region.

JCAA Members Selection Exhibition – 2-24 Aug 2018

‘JCAA Members Selection Exhibition’ – an exhibition by the members of the Joondalup Community Arts Association at the Joondalup Art Gallery 2-24 Aug 2018 Official Opening Friday 3rd Aug from 6.30pm The “JCAA Members Selection Exhibition”, initiated in 2014, encourages our members to challenge their artistic practice, to play, take risks, and explore innovative ideas, media and processes in both two and three-dimensional form. One artist from each of five categories will be selected by a panel of external judges, and awarded a one-year free membership of the JCAA, as well as being invited to exhibit at the two-week JCAA Art Awards Exhibition to be held in February 2019. Each of the five artists will be required to produce a further 3 artworks for the JCAA Awards Exhibition. External judges will judge the bodies of work, and one artist will be awarded the 2018 JCAA Art Award prize of $500. The following 5 categories are Painting, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Photographic and Digital Media, Technical Excellence.

JCAA Art Award Exhibition 2018 Photo Gallery

Congratulations to Julia Andrijasevich winner of the JCAA Art Award for 2018. We invite you to view the photos below of our winner and her beautiful sculptures. We have also included photos of other finalists and their works and of the opening night which included an introduction by Carl Altmann. The competition and exhibition was held during the first 2 weeks of February 2018. The overall winner was selected by three external judges and takes home a $500 prize.

‘Happenings 1’ an art exhibition by Art Happenings Community Art Group at the Joondalup Art Gallery
7th – 16th March 2018
Opening 7th March 2018 @ 6.30 pm
‘Art Happenings’ is a group of 15 artists who get together once a week at Hainsworth Community Centre, Girrawheen and create art. Group members work in a variety of mediums, including acrylics, watercolour, textiles, wire and clay, and recyclable materials. They work on their own individual art pieces and also collaborate to work on group projects. “Happenings 1” is the group’s first exhibition.
