Encaustic painting, using hot wax, is an ancient technique that is becoming increasingly popular with artists today as it is a very versatile medium and the results are immediate.
This introductory workshop will provide students with the basics of getting started with encaustic painting, and covers safe working practices, essential equipment and materials, and a number of core encaustic techniques (including imbedding items, image transfer and incising).
